READ THIS FAQ BEFORE POSTING ANY QUESTIONS!!!

FAQ and Facts

-The .jad file is attached at the bottom of this post.
-The file attached is a signed version. This means that it will only ask once about access to data use.
-Before installing the file, it is recommended that you uninstall any previous versions of Opera Mini.
-If you are reading this through the MEdia-Net Browser, you will not see the file.
-You must have an account and be currently logged on in order to see the file.

What is Opera Mini??

--Opera Mini is a java based browser that can be used as an alternative to the built-in browser.
OM is able to render full pages in HTML and is also considerably faster than the built-in one.
OM also has a much more user-friendly zoom function and all text are formatted to fit a zoomed-in screen.

How do I install OM to my phone?

--There are several ways of doing this. Here's one:
Download the file to you computer and upload it to a Wap server.
Follow the instructions on the wap website to download to your phone and install.
     http://www.waphq.net/index.php

This version is signed. However you should goatbreak the application to allow full access and permission  to the phones memory and memory card when downloading files using this browser.

Is there a way to use OM in landscape mode?

--Yes. You have to go into Menu, then Tools, then Settings. Scroll down and find Landscape mode. There will be a
box before it. Click that box. It might seem impossible to some, so instead use a pen or something with a sharp
     tip to click the box.

Is there a way to make entering website addresses easier?

--Yes. You have to go into Menu, then Tools, then Settings. Scroll down and find Auto-complete address input.
There will be a box before it. Uncheck that box. Once again, if you are having difficulties, use a pen or any
     other pointed object.

How come when I try to save/download something, it says I need to change the permission settings?

--On the download page, it shows a couple of options: Save, Open, and sometimes Zoom Image.
Do NOT click on save. Instead, click Open and this will trigger the built in browser to pop-up and
automatically save whatever it is you were trying to save. (As long as the file is compatible with/supported by
     the phone)

Can I install Flash player on OM?

--No. As a matter of fact, our phone cannot utilize Flash or Flash lite. If you want to play flash files, go buy a
     smartphone.

Where did you guys find this version? When I go to operamini.com from my phone is still says that my phone could not be detected and only offers me the older version... Also, is landscape mode possible with the full screen version?

Wow works perfectly... Thanks again.
I have mine in landscape mode, i think all you have to do is before you download this version set your opera to landscape, and after this version downloads it will open in landscape mode.

how do I go into landscape mode?

-Menu
--Tools
---Settings
----Under appearance, there should find Landscape mode
----Check the box next to it

Where did you guys find this version?

I found a signed .jad version of Opera Mini and hacked it to delete the arrows and extend the screen

Also, is landscape mode possible with the full screen version?

Yes, landscape is possible.

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!
Before switching to this fullscreen version, be sure to disable the "fake fullscreen version" (ie. pressing **)
If you don't, there would be no way to access the menu, etc..

great!   i could not really access this webpage through media net because it was on mobile view and I do not have to change that.  So what I did is send the files to my gmail account and open it through opera mini and downloaded through there.  It will prompt up the webbrowser so you can download it and now i got it and works great!

THANKS for the post and thanks for answering my questions! I was visiting the forums from my phone when I first saw your post so I didn't see the link to the file  Tongue

Installing it now, definitely one of the things I missed most after switching from my crackberry!

Thanks for this. the only question i have is how do you type in an address without the arrow and 123 keys?  Also, can all other applications be edited so that there are no arrow keys on the bottom?

It's a bit tricky to put in an address.  First choose anything on the main menu and let it go to that.  MENU GO TO.
Then click 2x in the address bar and choose the last thing on the history menu which is INSERT SYMBOL.

From there you get a blue screen.  Fool around with MENU there to clear and click and eventually you get to the T9 or QWERTY keyboard where you can type.  Back to the blue screen where you choose OK then back to Opera and MENU GO TO again.

If anyone has found an easier way, please post.
