Thank you for the welcome I really love this forum.  And I did this trick on the 20th as I can see from my post and so it has now been around 20 days and still no problems with my weather app I will post again if it fails but since the program never had anything to set as the registered phone maybe this actually worked! (fingers crossed)

Did you delete the entire line in the jad file or just the random digits in each of the lines that Agoattamer specified?  I deleted the digits and I got about 2 days of use from My-Cast Weather when it told me that a newer version existed and I only had exit as an option.

I actually removed the A867 and also the underscore in front of it.  Usually an underscore means it is leading into something so just removed it out of habit sorry should have mentioned that.  Here is a copy of the code hoepfully it comes through.  Oh and by the way it is still working to this day.  Smiley

Has anyone experienced a pop-up in my-cast that says
"We are unable to establish a data connection."??

Installing with TKFE it works the first time, but after that, I get the pop-up and it exits.

I have deleted the contents of the appdb folder and also updated java and app db. Angry

Create a new network profile:

     Set Name: Weather (or whatever)
     Access Name: wap.cingular
     Auth Type: None
     User ID: <blank>
     Password: <blank>
     Protocol: HTTP
     Home URL: http://
     Proxy Address: 0.0.0.0:0
     Linger Time (sec.): 300
Nothing set in Advanced Settings

Assign this profile to My-Cast Weather by opening My Stuff, Games & Apps and then using the More button at the bottom right of the screen, select Connections.

If you Update Java DBs in Internals, it reassigns the network profile back to MediaNet so you'll need to re-set back to this profile.

I erased the A867 on the jad.  I did this about a month ago and it still works and says I have a ton of days left.  This does the trick of having to put in different numbers every couple of weeks.  Nice find!!

 I used acidtaz2002's text from Response #213 above as my jad and I too have been running My-Cast Weather since February without having to update the jad and with a ton of days left in the demo!

I spent some time this morning trying to get My-Cast weather working, including editing the .jad by hand to change the # of days in trial, as well as the ohone model and MsID...no luck.  I finally copied & pasted the text from acidtaz, and works!  Hopefully, it'll stick around this time!

I'm glad this worked for all of you as well.  Just an update I still have like a billion some days left on my weather app and have not had to do anything except reset (power it down and then back up) my phone every so often to reconnect the data for it.  Beside that I think this is a permanent work around.  Once again love this site. Smiley

The expired thing showed for mine as well, then i hit buy and never went thru the buying process but it magically started working again.

I think everybody should try this before continuing to post their probs.

Not sure if this was stated in earlier posts or not!

I had MyCast expire on accident and installing the MyCast2 wouldn't work since the original was expired. I tried something on a guess and it worked!

If it expires, you can simply "goatbreak" the original MyCast in the LockedAppls folder in TKFE and voila it will be like new again, however, your locations will still be available. After doing this I installed the MyCast2 and it worked wonderfully!

Just thought I would share my discovery. Sorry if this has already been posted in previous pages. Grin Grin Grin

EDIT: Trying out the pasted test for the .jad file. hopefully it works. everyone else seems to be working great
