Sounds like you botched the install process of another my cast weather install. Never attempt to delete apps with TKFE if you can delete them in the games and apps menu first. Then use TKFE to delete your mistakes. If they wont delete then reboot your phone and try again.

And dont mix up this version with the original version. @ seperate applications because I changed the midlet name for this one.

OK, I deleted my cast weather2 of my phone using the phone.  I rebooted my phone and connected to TKFE.  TKFE shows that i have weather2 still on my phone (in games) with all the files, but my phone does not show the app.   So what do I do do now to fix this.  Do I delete the file with TKFE?

Ago this app seems to be working fine, but I was thinking maybe you could use your eternity "test phone" and put it under the bird poop test or maybe some underwater testing.  Cheesy  Let me know what happens.  Cheesy

How about the 'using as a fetch toy for my dog' test. Hope its better than my tv remote. It ended up in 1000 pieces.  If I didnt find the battery cover I would never have known what it was.  Grin

Started over.  Used master key version (I hope).  When I tried to open the app I get  "java error"  "invalid format."  Here are my steps that I used.

Downloaded jar and jad file from this thread to my computer.
Created a folder on my computer named "My-Cast Weather2"
Connected phone to TKF
Downloaded folder "My-Cast Weather2" using TKF to games
Downloaded jad file to above folder
Downloaded jar file to above folder.
Disconnected fromTKF
Went into internals on phone and clicked on storage setting
Clicked on update java DB
Clicked on update app database.
Went to games & apps
clicked on my-cast weather2
got error message
Deleted weather2 from phone
repeated above steps, but rebooted phone before trying app
Still got error message.

What am I doing wrong?  This is driving me nuts.  I have been able to do other hacks that you people have posted here without any problems (like gps).

"Downloaded folder "My-Cast Weather2" using TKF to games"

Create the folder in TkFE in the games folder, open it, and then drag the jad and jar files down one at a time. The rest looks ok.

Thanks FD.  I thought that might be the problem.  However, I cannot (don't know how) create a folder in TKFE.  I followed your instructions (I used your thread), but could not figure out how to add a folder.  I right click on games in TKFE (in lower left panel), but don't get anything.  I right click on games in lower right panel but only get upload or delete.  How do I created the folder.  I know you people say search, and believe me I have.  Quoting from your directions:

"Once you have TKFE connected to your phone, navigate to the Exe > Java > Games folder in the lower pane and create a new folder for each app you wish to add."

But how?  By no means am I a computer expert, but I do know how to create folders on my computer.  I just cannot figure this one out.  I am sure it is simple and I'll be saying "DUH!"  Thanks in advance for your help on this.

After you get into the Games directory, right click on an empty space on the right hand pane (where the list of apps are) and select "New folder" from option menu.

Like I said "DUH!"  Got the folder set up, downloaded the jad and jar.  Went into internals updated java DB and app database.  Rebooted phone, opened app, got same error message "java error, invalid format."

You may have had a problem in the dl of the jad and jar.  Here, use these, they worked for me.  I used the same process you are using.

FD

and just for grins and giggles, shorten the folder name to MyCastWeather2

Thanks FD, but I still get the same error message.  I notice that the jad file is 5.43kb, but when I download it to my phone with TKFE it shows only 4kb (it shows 6kb on my computer).  Could this be the problem, or do I just have some gremlins running around inside my phone messing with my mind.

When you download the files to your phone. Are they completing or are you getting disconnect errors?

Sometimes they complete other times they don't.  When they don't I just start all over from the very beginning.
