That very thing is what i'm trying to do lol. Weird thing is, I can remove the path in the last 2 lines, and it still restores to default... so it must have a fail-safe default it assumes to pull from if no path is specified. If you remove the last 2 lines entirely the preconfig says it installs but when it reboots your phone has not been reset at all.. I've tried various ways to get it to pull settings from a specified path but with no luck.

I am about to do an actual master reset with a modified nv_default in the NV folder to see if that does it.

(EDIT) LOL ok that was awesome... I must have changed something I shouldn't have, because after the master reset I have no text anywhere on any menu whatsoever, but it does appear to have read the change on the backlight timer, cause I set the line in the NV_default to 30 and the menu is now on the 3rd one down... I just can't actually read what it says.. cause there is no font... lol

(UPDATE!) MASTER RESET CODE IS WHAT DID IT. FUNK is correct. I was on the wrong track with the preconfig I completely forgot about the master reset code! I set my color table to 2 and it doesn't look exactly like funk's screens but now my letters on my keyboard are like a pink/salmon color, popups are crimson and words on popups are fuschia (VERY hard to read LOL).

Will get pics when I get home I'm at work now.

BTW Funk, cookie given! Real nice leads! Thanks! Grin

(OK HERE'S PROOF ON THE ETERNITY using NV_SI_SKIN_COLOR_TABLE=2)

This is a text message, NOT the dialer.

Somewhat of a crazy color scheme. Looks cool sometimes but other things not pictured are unreadable such as the text message inbox. The timestamps are red and are hard to read on the background. Texts themselves are readable though.

@ Funk, have you found any individually manipulatable settings in this file? I tried a couple different values in here but all I could get was the font in the dialer either black, or a very very light gray almost invisible to the background color. I can't tell if these color tables are all we have.

Holy crap I just got my dialer to dial in rainbow gradient LOL! Not 100% sure how yet... still messing with stuff.

(EDIT) Apparently this is done by changing the line

NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_TYPE=1

from 1, to 3. All other numbers I have tried are just black font. I can't figure out how to get one solid color that isn't black or light light gray.

Some things I would like to see out of this thread...

What "Theme1.sty" is. Is located in these values:
NV_SI_UCS_DEFAULT_FILE=/SystemFS/MediaSet/UCS/Default/Theme1.sty
NV_SI_UCS_FILE=/SystemFS/MediaSet/UCS/Default/Theme1.sty
See if you can upload that file (I am w/o TKFE for a while) and we will see if we can possibly write a new theme.

Find out what  picture "Ice.bmp" is and how/where it is used around the phone. Values:
NV_SI_SCREEN_IDLE_IMG=/SystemFS/Media/Pictures/Ice.bmp
NV_SI_SCREEN_IDLE_IMG_PICTURE=/SystemFS/Media/Pictures/Ice.bmp
NV_SI_SCREEN_IDLE_IMG_HOMESCREEN_BACKUP_PICTURE=/SystemFS/Media/Pictures/Ice.bmp
NV_SI_SCREEN_IDLE_DEFAULT_IMG=/SystemFS/Media/Pictures/Ice.bmp

Change around values:
NV_SI_COVER_LCD_GREETINGMSG=Welcome to AT&T

Just checked and I am unable to find that path toast. Sad

There's no UCS folder under MediaSet, just a "Frame" and "MovieMaker" folder.

as far as Ice.bmp. It's one of the default wallpapers, the one that looks like it has water on it.

And I changed NV_SI_COVER_LCD_GREETINGMSG=Welcome to AT&T

to something different.. It had no effect. Then again, I've never seen "welcome to AT&T" displayed anywhere on my phone. I assumed it should be on bootup though?

Hold that thought Toast.. Trying something else.. will edit this post when done.

----Ok, well I tried Qualcomm Support Tools (via the post by marcustremonti) since in his post he said it listed files that TK doesn't. However, I still do not see such a folder.  Huh

---EDIT--- On a completely different note... I found out what NOT to do... Qualcomm phone tools showed an NV folder on the root with files in it that had changes I made to the NV_defaults written to it. I wanted to see if we could manually write to this file so we wouldn't have to do a master reset every time, but it appears partially encrypted... I tried, rebooted phone, and bricked it. Reflashing now lol.. Roll Eyes

---EDIT AGAIN--- Just succeeded in making my dialer font solid orange but to be honest I have no idea how, all I did was change a value I'd been messing with all day and had no luck with. I need to take a break for today lol...

I was only testing for 2 things color's and lock screen, and i only got one of the 2. I just hate that purple flower damnit... but no i havenot and i just got off work so im going to change your dialer font type. have you tried any other values for it? i just google the commands and most of the sites are german or italian or something esle.

(((EDIT)))

in my message screen my text is black and my key board key have to be black... maybe you can use other ones... i liked number 4 kinda gave me a weed feal. but something wasnt right and thats how most of them were for mine..

and in the dial pad my numbers are still black. but the letters are red. so you might have more abilities than me

(((EDIT AGAIN)))

can you attach your nv_default? i wonder if i can use yours and boot from it, i got goat to send me his impression's. it was able to boot it, but that back ground image didnt work. and white key board and white txt cant see anything. but it booted, and i want to try and make my own and try different combinations of things

my thoughts (next time i pre config} was to try to set up the alarms and sound profiles to a different default. that way i can reset certain things without losing the important stuff.

Funk, in this code try making all three lines that are in red, the same number. Try 660 for all 3 and tell me what color you get. It doesn't change the key color, just the numbers that are typed.

NV_SI_DIALING_FONT=26
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_TYPE=1
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_TYPE_SEC=0
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_TYPE=1
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR=419
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_START=665
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_END=665

re those your phones stock numbers? these are mine, stock. like i said i took the impressions nv_default.ini, and booted from it. and there values are different. but it did not change my key color.... well maybe it change the letters on the dial screen. ill edit this and get back with you. i might try something like 0.

NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_TYPE_SEC=0
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_TYPE=1
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR=421
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_START=667
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_END=667
NV_SI_DIALING_BACKGROUND_COLOR=420

(((EDIT)))
i tired this but nothing from what i saw
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_START=665
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_END=665
NV_SI_DIALING_BACKGROUND_COLOR=0

(((EDIT AGAIN))
I did this for next one
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_START=0
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_END=0
NV_SI_DIALING_BACKGROUND_COLOR=0
Nothing, but i did
NV_SI_GREETING_MSG_MAIN_LCD_BACKGROUND_COLOR=421
NV_SI_GREETING_MSG_MAIN_LCD_TEXT_STYLE=26
NV_SI_GREETING_MSG_COVER_LCD_FONT_COLOR=0
NV_SI_GREETING_MSG_COVER_LCD_BACKGROUND_COLOR=0
NV_SI_GREETING_MSG_COVER_LCD_TEXT_STYLE=26
NV_SI_COVER_LCD_TITLE_FONT_COLOR=0

still doing testing with this. i think it made my letter black, and if so i can use the impressions number 11....... nope nothing

Yeah those are the defaults for mine. It seemed the color only changed correctly if all 3 of those parameters were changed.

and you set ALL three of these

NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR=421
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_START=667
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_END=667

To the same value? Such as:

NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR=661
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_START=661
NV_SI_DIALING_FONT_COLOR_GRADATION_END=661

And it didn't work? Again the only way I got results is if I set all 3 of those codes to the exact same number.

I think the solstice has other codes for that crap, when you changed your color's, and on the pics compair them to mine. i still have black letters. even in the dial pad, and thats why i think you guys might have more available settings for your phones. like what is this crap. the impression has these commands but no settings for them

NV_SI_SSL_CERT_FILE1=/Security/Certs/my_key.der
NV_SI_SSL_CERT_FILE2=/Security/Certs/my_cert.der
NV_SI_SSL_CERT_FILE3=/Security/Certs/pca-cert.der
NV_SI_SSL_CERT_FILE4=/Security/Certs/pca-cert.der

and i have settings as you can see. OH and yes i changed them all to 0 to see if i could force black letters on the keydoard as well. i know its the dial pad. but when i change color's some of them have gray letters a gray keydoard Sad cant see them to i was thinking by changing the vaules for the dial pad might have an affect on the keyboard. but no it doesnt. be maybe if i try 661 for all of them it might work.. ill try again. i'm about tired of restoring my phone tho, havning to add apps and widgets Sad
and what aboutthese 2

NV_SI_SKIN_FONT=0
NV_SI_SKIN_COLOR=1

and these

NV_SI_KEYPAD_TONE_CLASS_DIALING_FONT_FLASH=/System/MediaSet/Sound/KeyTone/FlashPen
NV_SI_KEYPAD_TONE_CLASS_MAIN_MENU=/System/MediaSet/Sound/KeyTone/Mute
NV_SI_KEYPAD_TONE_CLASS_WINSET_MENU=/System/MediaSet/Sound/KeyTone/Mute
NV_SI_KEYPAD_TONE_CLASS_WINSET_MENU_BOX=/System/MediaSet/Sound/KeyTone/Mute
NV_SI_KEYPAD_TONE_CLASS_INACTIVE=/System/MediaSet/Sound/KeyTone/Mute
NV_SI_SKIN_COLOR_BASE_BITMAP_PATH=/System/Rsrc/Bmp/Black/
NV_SI_SKIN_COLOR_USED_BITMAP_PATH=/System/Rsrc/Bmp/Black/
