1. Searched the forums and didn't find anything
2. Wasn't sure where to post this, feel free to move thread to appropriate sub forum
With that said...
After i woke up yesterday I went to use my Eternity as a music player while I was cleaning my apartment only to find out that no music would come through the speakers.  I hit play and it starts playing the song, I can fast forward, rewind, pause etc, it just doesn't make any noise.  It will work if i plug in headphones or an fm transmitter.  My speaker phone works, as does the speaker when someone calls me, i.e. my txt msg tone and incoming call mp3 ringer work.  I've tried restarting the phone, taking out the battery, and changing all the sound profiles.
And yes I've made sure the volume is up Smiley
Anyone have any ideas besides a factory reset?

Basically, the jack has "sensing" in it that "knows" when you plug something in. There could be something in it such as dust or whatnot which messed up the "removal" of the headphones from letting music through the speaker again. Many people suggest rapidly plugging and unplugging your headphones from the jack a few times and see if that helps.

This actually has been posted a bunch, but sometimes it's hard unless you search for the key terms in the post. Many people have said this is what fixes it. Have not experienced the issue myself though but this always ends up being the answer as far as I know.  Grin

I had the same thing happen to me. Just try what nomnompie says and it should work. If it doesn't, then try blowing air from a compressed air can into it to blow out any dust or debris.

You could also try contact cleaner for the headphone jack if the canned air doesn't work. You can get it at any electronics store, Radio Shack would be you best bet but kind of pricey. All you would do is turn your phone off, spray a small amount in the jack, wait a few secs for any residue to dry and then turn your phone back on. You can even try using a q-tip to try and clean out the jack once you spray it.

I had the same thing happen and after reading this I blew into the earphone jack - didn't have canned air - and it resolved the problem.  Thank you.

When this happened to me I plugged in some headphones, turned off the phone, then turned it back on, then unplugged the headphones, and it was fixed.
