*Now working!*
Note, there are some bugs. If development members can join together, we might be able to correct a few of them!

Special thanks to marcustremonti for the flashing method, and to Dogs1985 for the firmware
Give them cookies! Not me, I just used their information and re-uploaded the firmware

This can type Chinese and English, the phone's entire language (menu's, settings, etc.) is in Chinese, and it can also display Japanese characters. Also, menu items can be displayed in English. There are some known bugs, such as the camera being flipped, but I think, with some work, we can fix it. Please post any bugs you find here!

Note: this can really screw up your phone if it doesn't go smoothly, or you don't follow instructions completely.

Things you will need:
1. Samsung USB Data cable.
2. Your currently English phone
3. S7120u (Chinese Samsung Eternity) Firmware which can be downloaded here..... http://rapidshare.com/files/380211039/S7120UZNIH1.zip367_1_14a873b5dcf5664.zip
4. Multiloader 5.6 which can be downloaded by the attachment below.....

English draft manual here: http://www.samsung-eternity.com/samsung-eternity-tips-and-tricks/how-to-install-chinese-language-support-firmware/?action=dlattach;attach=5687

Steps:
1. Put your English Samsung Eternity phone in bootloader mode by holding down the red power button and the down volume button at the same time until the screen pops up.
2. Open up Multiloader v5.6 and under the "control" box, select "MSM6275/MSM6280/MSM6290"
3. click on "port search" button
4. tick "boot change" and "full download"
5. click on "boot" button, select "BOOTFILES" directory
6. click on "amss" button, select "amss_compressed.bin"
7. click on "rsrc1" button, select "Rsrc_S7120U_ChinaUnicom.rc1" directory
8. click on "rsrc2" button, select "Rsrc2_S7120U(Low).rc2"
9. click on "factory fs" button, select "FactoryFs_S7120U_ChinaUnicom.ffs"
10. click on "download" button, wait until finish

The whole process only takes about 2-3 minutes and then it will restart the phone and then you will be prompted to calibrate the touchscreen. After calibration then you are in business!!!

Master key: *#9072641*#

How to set it to English and Set MMS and MediaNet to AT&T, as well as set up POP/IMAP support with a Gmail example: http://www.samsung-eternity.com/samsung-eternity-tips-and-tricks/how-to-install-chinese-language-support-firmware/msg73175/#msg73175

Finaly, Chinese letter support, My Chinese friends will be jumping all over this. Again superb job putting this together toast, and I am also assuming this is the same firmware as the English version only with a flipped camera? and is this firmware made for the "Chinese eternity?

Well, it is the same firmware (from the S7120u) for the same hardware. In all practical senses, the hardware for the S7120 (the "Chinese Eternity") and the Samsung Eternity are the same. The phone is made by Anycall, which is apart of Samsung, so I would imagine the internal specs are the same, while I know the outside look is exactly alike. The flipped camera is the only bug that Dogs1985 told us about.

While the software probably differs, most of the pictures of the OS look very similar. I would not encourage English-only speakers to install this lol, as all of the OS components are in Chinese, although you can type English texts.

I think the camera problem is fixable, but we need people that can mess with the registry settings of the phone's camera settings to change it. So, once we get people saying it worked, I can get them to try things.

Great post Toast. However I would make one change. You call it samsung eternity firmware in the first post. We all know it isn't. Noobs will see it and install it and be like what did I just install? Please make it known that it is not the samsung eternity firmware but the s7120u firmware. Thanks.

Doesn't work on my Eternity Sad
When I get to the rsrc2 file it gets an error, NAK_INVALID_ADDR 0
Same for the FFS file.

Could someone else validate this? It seemed to work for Dogs1985 well.

*Unstickied until we get more info.

oh and I tried both Rsrc2_S7120U(Low).rc2, then Rsrc2_S7120U(Mid).rc2.  Neither one worked.

I got the same thing.  Neither one of the rsrc2 files or the fw worked.
I have tried this type of flashing before, if I remember correctly the phone will only accept the files if they are under a certain file size.
I am not saying that this is the reason I just remember that being the case one time.

I tried using the files that worked from the Chinese fw and the replacing the bad files with the actual fw.
The at&t screen loaded but stopped about 3/4 of the way there.
I will keep trying things but I don't know if the fw will work .

I read in the other post that you have to flash the boot files as well.  That is one thing I will not try.  That's how I bricked my last Eternity.

Try the new method. Yes, it involves boot files, but you have to trust the other guy.

I can now say that it works once you change the boot files.

It takes a while and restarts a couple of times but it works.
It is missing a few things, but over all works have yet to be able to call so that might be a downfall.

And I am not sure it will support our 3g network.

If anyone wants I can put pics on.

yes you can make the menu language english.

I have also found out that the master key for the eternity doesn't work.

Also I was wondering if there is a way to make this fw support our 3g network.
Seeing how it already has the right hardware, I figure it may be a software issue.

I also haven't been able to get the camera to work the right way.

Confirm, It works, just that the task buttom is the lock buttom now and the lock buttom is useless. Can any expert change the task to the top lock buttom? I kindna like the lock buttom on the side instead of on top.
