Eternity Rules!

« on: December 10, 2008, 12:31:30 PM »

Hi, All;

I would like to understand more about changing the volume using the service codes(*#0002*28346#)  I have managed to figure out how to change the decibel(db) numbers but...... Do I need to load params after or do I have to reboot the phone for it to take effect.   Also I don't remember the original numbers for, say, the rcv call volume but it goes from a pick list of 0 to 6 and from - 10 to 12.3 I think.  Is zero the mute at minus 10; if so than the default is 10 db?  So that means pick 6 is the highest volume. So by changing it to say 25, does it make the highest volume at 35 db.  Also I read that Rx is what you hear and Tx is for how loud others hear you.  Can you change the Tx somehow.  What do you have your volume settings at; what numbers do you use.
Once I figure it all out I would like to post a tutotorial of sorts especially for the non-tech savvy eternity users unless someone else wants to post a tutorial that already knows the ins and out of volume adjusting than feel free to do so cause it might take me awhile to figure it all out and create one myself.  Any info would be a great help.

Thanks
-mike

I also would like to know a bit more info about this. I changed some numbers in here but it didn't seem to have any effect on the earpiece volume at all.

Any news on this?  My earphone volume seems to be pretty low also.  I've tried Philips, Sony, and Bose headphones and they're all pretty low.  Being able to change the earphone volume to higher than 7 would be awesome.

I wish I could crank up the ring tone volume as well even just a tad besides the head phones...my wife's Palm and friends Blackberry are twice as loud.....I'm considering connecting my Eternity to a set of Marshall amps but that might defeat the purpose of a cell phone Sad

For head phones try entering *#197328640#, [8]audio, [2]ear config, [4]av-qtune, [1]ear mp3 vol, you can increase each db to a setting you prefer. 0 is vol 1, 1 is vol 2 and so on. I have mine set at
0. -36.0 db
1. -29.0 db
2. -22.0 db
3. -15.0 db
4. -9.0 db
5. -2.0 db
6. 5.0 db

It is louder than stock. You can make it louder but be careful.

For speaker mp3 [8] audio, [3] spk config, [4] av-qtune, [1] spk mp3 vol
the same applies but don't set same as ear. Increase little by little to your desire. Again be careful and don't blow out the speaker.

Thanks this helps so much...however I don't trust my judgment for safe volumes, would you mind doing the same thing for the ringtone volume, and the speaker for Mp3?Huh It would be sooooooo much appreciated.

0. -23.0
1. -21.0
2. -18.0
3. -13.0
4. -8.0
5. -3.0
6. 2.0

This is what I have for mp3 speaker. Changing this will increase the ringtone volume also because your ringtones should be mp3. If you want it louder, up the dbs for each like 1-2 more. Hope this helps.

anyone? when i go into [8] audio and then into, say, [3] SPK config and then into [4] AV-QTune(MP3) and then into [1] SPK MP3 Vol, It brings up a list 0-6, and for each one it counts by 2's before the rx: value.  example: 0.[2]rx:-23.0dB   1.[4]rx:-21.0dB  When i changed the values to make it louder it changed so that when i listen to music 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 are loud(er) and 1 3 5 7 9 11 13 are softer. Like, 4 is much louder than 3, but its also louder than 5.  Any imput would be awesome, thanks guys

I was able to tweak my ear bud volume (ear mp3 vol) by following AVEBAD's instructions....

now I'm happy with the volume.

Thanks,

I'm curious how to get the number to be negative.  Doesn't seem to be an option when I go into the keypad to enter in the value.  I type in 360 for 36.0, but can't get the negative value.  Help please! Thanks a bunch.

I figured it out...i feel like an idiot.  Just hit the "1" button on the number pad until it's a "-" then key in the number you want.

This is great for the ringtones. Does anyone know how to make the message tones louder. The standard one are cool with me, but they are too soft... Undecided
