I have read this entire thread w/ intention of making my text message alert louder.  I am using one of the 4 initial options as a text tone.  I figured this was a MID file and that by following the instructions posted in the thread (choosing 5 instead of 4 so Im editing the volume of MID files and not mp3s) I could get the notification to be a little louder.  I set all 6 options to 2 db by entering 20 in the entry field (not -20, I wanted 2db, not -2).  When I powered down my phone and turned it back on the greeting tone was definitely louder than it was before.  But, when I set my text alert tone to level "7" and get a message, its still as quiet as it was initially.  What gives?  Any help?  I didnt see anything about this posted in this thread, but even though MID files seem like they might be louder, my text alert tone has not changed.  Do I need to look at another setting?

-6 is less that -5 so your volume would be lower.

Try changing them all to 5.0 instead of -5.0.

Still puzzled with the volume issue ,I wish someone could tell me if there has yet been a real fix to increasing the volume on the ring tones and music without losing the ability of the volume control ? I have gone through the initial number changes to only find that it removed the ability to use volume control ,I don't find that a reasonable solution is there another set of numbers that will do ? Increase volume and retain switch in working order? please direct me . Thanks BOB K

There really is no fix for it. The best i can tell you is to put a 2 second blank pause in front of your ringtones if that 2 seconds matters that much.

I think those on the behold forum could answer that question better. This is a forum for the Eternity on ATT.

If I were to turn off the phone, the power back on, would the settings reset themselves?
