I've been playing around with the debug mode and such, and I wanted to mention a little something I discovered.

My ringtone sometime after I was messing around on it would play louder at the beginning and then down, and sounded rather horrible. Well, I figured out that I changed the decibel settings for a lower level of the volume controls. After I corrected the problem, the ringtone thing went away and went back to it's normal, yet annoying, increasing tone.

This implies that the ringtone software realizes that it starts at a lower setting and works its way up. Just thought I would share the information =)

*#0002*28346#

Back button.
Back button.
Then [3]
Then [4]
Then [1]
And you edit the volume levels by selecting the number you want to edit, then the READ at the top will switch to WRITE. Then click the text box at the bottom and type in the dB you would like that specific setting to be at. Then hit ok. I would write down all the defaults though, I didn't and now I'm stuck with my guesses =/

By the way, does anyone have the defaults?

actually i did figure that out and found a run around hack to the ringtone issue but has some draw backs

first use *#0002*28346# and hit back 3 times
youll then see [3] spk config press 3
then on the list you will see [4] av-qtune(mp3) so press 4
then on the list you will see [1] spk mp3 vol[] so press 1

then press 0 and ther top will say spk mp3 volume, write when that comes up tap the entry bar and this is the settings i used for all of them

and this is what you type in -40 and that will turn into -4.0 when you it goes back to the screen

now to bypass the "increasing ringer"

once all the setting are inplace you can go to you sound setup and select increasing ring as your melody type but because all the parameter are the same it wont actuall increase

now the downfall to this, you can change the volume of your mp3s or the ringer either so if you use your phone as a mp3 player with headphones i would suggest not doing this

however i might have a work around to that if you want to change all your ringtones to mmf ill test this tonight

now for a reset when you screw up or want to go back
type in *2767*2878#  and hit back 3 times
you will then see [8] audio in the list to press 8
then you will see [6] rebuild so press 6
the on the list you will see [3] rebuild spk so press 3 it will then tell you " rebuild result done and press confirm
this will take you back to your normal main menu then turn your phone off and then back on and there ya go everything back to normal

thanks

It should be set to off, if it's on the camera won't work.

when you said that -4 was the setting for all of them, did you mean -4 on numbers 0-8(or 9, i can't remember)?

Chris, what does pressing that 0 do? Is that what's editting the "increasing melody" part?

Is there a way to edit the "melody" part so that way we can just select "melody" from our profile settings?

Thanks!

Worked great for me. Yep, it would be great to change the melody profile only. Not the increasing. And you must use an mp3 ringtone, midis are not effected cause we changed the mp3 sound.

So, is there a setting there for the normal melody only???

Thanks for the info.

PS: pressing 0 just takes you to another menu.

rob, I actually just changed the midi setting (so press 5 instead of 4 in Chris's directions).  That way the volume of my songs is left unchanged and I can use the music player just fine).

After toying it a bit more, it seems like the 0 is for editting the first volume.  If you change the 1 as well, that edits the volume a little later on, like 6 seconds into the ringtone.  If you change 2 as well, that changes the volume even later into the ringtone.  I went in and changed all the volume options to about -6.0 dB.  It works great for me.

thanks saadk83. That really helped a lot. No worries about not adjusting my volume when playing a song. :-)

I am amazed that Samsung knows of this program and has not release a proper fix for this. Well, again thanks.
