Hey guys, my contract's about to expire and I'm looking for something to replace my eternity. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any phones with a touchscreen and 3.5mm jack that isn't a smart phone. I've looked at several of the non-smart/non-data plan phones like the HTC freestyle, lg encore, and samsung flight but reviews claim either call quality or touch screen is lacking. I've just about given up on looking for a non smart, touch screen with a 3.5 headphone jack so if I could just get a few suggestions for a good non-smart phone that would be great. Thanks in advance.

From everything I've read, the HTC Freestyle seems like the closest thing you can get to a smartphone, without getting a smartphone. I recently got the Pantech Laser, but it doesn't have a headphone jack (although you could get an adapter).
What did you not like about the Freestyle?

I've read reviews about the call quality not being very good on the Freestyle. Apparently the volume isn't loud enough. I don't even care anymore about the headphone jack, I'm at my wits end right now and I'm just willing to get a phone that works. Almost all the non-data touch screens at&t has to offer are terrible from what I've read. How's the Laser?

hell dude, i got the eternity because it was the only real choice of an upgrade from my previous phone.
flash forward a few years (aka current time), i found nothing that interested me without going to a smart phone

i was going to get an inspire until i heard of the upcoming infuse
i figured i would wait til it came out, if i liked it i would get it, otherwise i would get the inspire.
well, it came out on a sunday. i went and saw it. and then i bought 2 on the next day (monday).

that's the 'upgraded' inspire. i often wonder, since i liked the inspire but not the captivate, had i been in a position to wait, if i would have liked the holiday more than the infuse.

but
i had already waited a few months (on top of the few months that i already put it off)  because they kept putting off the infuse release date. and i really was not capable of waiting any longer.

So you got an inspire nunya? Great phone actually.  I have the Desire HD from Telus in canada.  Same exact phone as the inspire but I am still on my impression $10 data plan.

For me, it should be Holiday vs S2. I think it should match up with the Holiday in the lead. The S2 does seem like the upgrade for the infuse (which either this or the inspire is the best now) so there's no way I'm going to not wait for the matchup.

How much did the Desire HD cost you (I'm assuming it wasn't cheap)? Even though I just got a newer phone a few months ago (Pantech Laser), now that I have a data plan I'm considering getting an unlocked smartphone since browsing on my phone is kind of a pain (although I did use the instructions from this forum and was able to tether my phone to my cousins computer via bluetooth, just hope AT&T doesn't crack down on dumbphone tetherers like they are with smartphones)
I'm somewhat considering the Vibrant since it's basically the same as the Captivate, it's not really new so it wont be super expensive, I can unlock it myself (don't have to pay to unlock it), and it can apparently get 3g on AT&T (I think it has just the 1900 3g band for AT&T, but I don't get 3g where I really will use the data plan most so it's not too big of a deal).
