Aghhh, I hope there is a way to connect! I'm still reading around the site, and I have a bad feeling that the Qualcomm USB setting has to be set. I didn't have that set before it was bricked (debug mode=3). Any way to change this now that I can only use the uploader? I can try linux to access the phone somehow.. I'm open to whatever needs to be done.

You dont need to mess with Qualcomm.  If you didn't mess with the usb settings it should be set to samsung usb.

You don't use Pc Studios to reflash the phone.  You have to use MultiLoader v5.5.

Quote From marcustremonti:

Here are the steps in order to reflash your phone with the firmware if you have bricked it!

Things you will need:
1. Samsung USB Data cable.
2. Your "thought to be" useless phone!
3. Samsung Eternity Firmware which can be downloaded here.....http://www.4shared.com/account/file/119687552/74e036f9/A867UCHJ3.html
4. Multiloader v5.5 which can be downloaded by the attachment below.....(Thank you Berdman21 !!)

Steps:
1. Put your bricked phone in bootloader mode by holding down the red power button and the down volume button at the same time until the screen pops up.
2. Open up Multiloader v5.5 and under the "control" box, select "MSM6275/MSM6280/MSM6290"
3. Plug your USB Data cable into your phone and into your computer (at this point port numbers should show up at the very bottom and the Download button should be highlighted)
4. Check the box that says "Full Download."
5. Click the "BOOT" button and locate the boot folder which is located in the firmware file that you downloaded earlier and click open. (Note that the folder won't show any contents but the contents are there and will be used.
6. Click on the "Amss" button and locate the Amss.bin folder and then click open.
7. Click the "Rsrc1" button and locate the Rsrc.rc1 file and then open.
8. Click the "Rsrc2" button and locate the Rsrc.rc2 file and then open.
9. Click the "Factory FS" button and locate the FactoryFs.ffs file and then open it.
10. Click Download and the phone will then be reflashed. ( don't disconnect the cable until it tells you it is completed.)

The whole process only takes about 2-3 minutes and then it will restart the phone and then you will be prompted to calibrate the touchscreen. After calibration then you are in business!!!

Yes I know, I am using MultiLoader v.5.5 (forgot to say this) but it's not detecting my phone when I click the button to detect ports. I figured this was because the right drivers aren't installed or working. I installed the drivers by installing PC Studio, but I am using MultiLoader v5.5 to flash my phone. And that's the same thread I am working from, thanks.

Have you tried using a different USB port on your machine?

Yep, I tried my USB hub and the direct port into the machine. (Lenovo Thinkcentre M55)

I'm pretty sure it's a data cable, at least that's what it said on the website I got it from. Here's the link if you wanna take a look. Is there any completely sure way I can tell if it's a data cable by looking at the cable?

Thanks

I first tried it on Windows XP for the best chance of success, then I tried it on Windows 7 RC2 and I got the same error. I also have Ubuntu 9.04 installed if that is of any use.

XP is your best bet. And since you have the samsung drivers installed you should be able to connect. I have never flashed so i cant help you on finding the port. But I can give you some qualcom drivers to install and maybe that might help. Install this file on your XP computer. And try to connect again.

Oh hey, that didn't fix the issue, but I ended up trying a few more USB ports. I tried the USB extension cable that goes all the way to the back of my PC, and, like magic, I got two open ports for COM4 and COM5. Neither of them work when I try to download though Sad I followed the steps on this thread but it gave me these errors:

Download Start Ch[1]
Warring : Security fail!!
Warring : Phone Info fail!!
ERR : Diff OemSbl Nand Size 4000 20000

I'm glad to have gotten this far though!

Try rebooting your pc and try again. Happy you got this far. Try to contact Marcus and see if he has any pointers.
