So I've pretty much made up my mind.  I'm fed up with AT&T and their new $200 "Early upgrade" fee is kind of the nail in the coffin.  After months of research and looking at all 3 other carriers, Sprint it is.

The phone I've decided on?  The Samsung Epic 4G.  The best price?  Amazon.com.  Thats the thing though, when I make the switch I want to be able to keep my number, and my wife does too.  Talking to the guys at the sprint store all I would have to do is go in there when I'm ready and they'll port my number over and cancel my AT&T service for me.  But the Epic 4G is $299 there, and my wife wants one too, so thats $600 in the store.  They are only $100 on Amazon.com.

Can it be done?  Can I switch through Amazon and keep my number?  If not I guess we'll just deal with getting new numbers... its not worth an extra $400 to keep them!

I'm not sure if this would work (or if Sprint even allows this) but could you sign up for an account with Sprint but not sign a contract, then use Amazon to sign a contract with the account? I'm not sure if Sprint allows you to make an account without signing a new contract (since it's CDMA, so it's harder to bring your own device).
