Hi all,

My Eternity is having a hard time to index the files on my MicroSD card (displays black icon instead of white one) and sits with the screen lit because it hasn't finished indexing all the files on the card. It takes about 10-15 mins for the icon to turn white

This started today when I cached all the maps to use the offline mode in MGMaps. ( 120 MB/~12,000 files, might be the problem)

Before loading all my maps onto the card I had about 6.5 GB of music that I deleted after it was taking a while to show the white icon, and after I deleted the music it still takes forever.

I have an 8GB SanDisk Class 2 MicroSD card in the phone.

Is there anything I can do to speed up this process?

Thanks,

Andrew

Get a Class 6 MicroSD card? lol

A full 8GB MicroSD card will take a while to index especially if the class speed is lower.

haha yeah I was thinking that might be the only thing that would help.

I'm going to try storing the maps on the internal phone memory since there is enough free space and use the MicroSD card for my pictures/music/video etc. I'll see how that works out.

Thanks

I just deleted the Maps from the MicroSD card and now the phone freezes up and when I restart it, it appears like the phone is bricked, but after 5 mins of sitting there the home screen comes up..

When I take out the MicroSD card the phone starts up slightly faster, (still takes several minutes)

I'm not sure what there is to do at this point..

I have a feeling the SD card might be corrupted but that doesn't explain why it still takes a long time for the phone to boot up without the card.

You could try reformatting the card on your computer.
