I have a conversation saved in texts (46 msgs total) inbox and outbox, that needs to be imported onto my computer. I don't know how to do this, and was hoping someone could help me out. I've tried about everything I could think of.

Anyone know how to transfer or import saved text msgs to the computer?

I don't have a usb cable with the eternity (yet), so I'm wondering if it's still possible.

Thanks.

If you have either a USB cable or Bluetooth, you can use Samsung's PC Studio to get message files off your phone.  Using the "New PC Studio" program (available from Samsung's support website), do the following:

1) Open PC Studio and connect to your phone.
2) Click on the Toolbox icon (puzzle-piece) and scroll down to Message Manager (click it).
3) Click on the "Phone -> PC" icon on bottom left of Message Manager window, to load in your msgs.
4) Right-click on Message Manager title bar and select "Export to PC".  choose path and filename and click Next, then Done.

This saves all your messages in a .nef message file.  This is NOT a text file, and you're on your own to find a converter at this point (unless anyone else can suggest something), but at least you have your messages saved!

wait, are you a hundred percent sure it saves as a .nef file...

a bit of googling says the a .nef file refers to a nikon DSLR camera and how it saves files as raw...
its kind of confusing..but its saying that .nef belongs to the dslr

Yep, .nef, that's why I said your on your own Undecided.  There's no other option to save-as.

I tried it on my phone - good news is that if you open the nef file in a text editor you CAN see the text of your messages, just interspersed with a bunch of other garbage and non-printing characters.  I'm sure there must be a mechanism to convert it though.  Maybe on Samsung's site?

I have tried the PC Studio and I couldn't even get my computer to connect to my phone.  Seemed like another great Vista compatibility problem.  I would love to find out how to print texts because I have some that will be needed shortly.  I can connect to my printer, when I hit print via bluetooth, I see it connect with my printer, but then an error comes back saying "unable to find printer info".  Any help with this would be great.

Has anyone got an update on printing text messages other than bluetooth, yet?  I need to have text and sender info printed.

The new PC software seems to give you a print option.  I chose the print preview and it appears in a readable format.  Will attempt printing when I get home to my printer.
