I know there have been threads about this, and i've read several of them, and tried tons of different things, and yet i still have no connectivity.  I'm using Windows 7 ultimate, and I've tried installing both pc studio 3, and new pc studio.  At this point, I'm just not sure what I can do to get my phone connected.  Any help with be greatly appreciated Smiley

64 or 32 bit OS? That is the most important question we should be asking here.

Here, try this from the Solstice website.

I have not seen a clear cut explanation on how to install NPCS and TkFE and it work for everyone the first time.  Here it is...

If you have installed any version of Samsung PC Studio other than New PC Studio 1.21 IH1, and/or any Samsung USB drivers other than those provided in New PC Studio 1.21 IH1 and your computer does not recognize your phone immediately when you plug it in,  you need to CLEAN  IT UP as outlined here.  Otherwise skip to CEAN INSTALL

CLEAN  IT UP
You must uninstall PC Studio first.  Do not use Add Remove Programs or Programs and Features in the control panel to do this as it may not remove all the drivers.  Use the Uninstall utility next to the Samsung New PC Studio or Samsung PC Studio 3 links under Start> Programs.  Reboot and then go to Add Remove Programs (XP) or Programs and Features (Vista and Win 7) in Control Panel and uninstall anything that says Samsung.  Reboot one more time after everything Samsung is gone.

CLEAN INSTALL
Prepare your phone first.
Navigate to Menu> Settings> Connectivity> Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is OFF.
Back out once and go to Select USB Mode and choose Samsung PC Studio. Click Save and return to the idle screen.  With this method DO NOT go into the Admin menu and change from Samsung USB Mode.
Make sure the phone is on and at the idle screen (wallpaper) and all apps are closed.  Hit the red call end button to be sure. DO NOT connect the USB data cable yet.
Make sure you have your sim card installed.

Prepare your computer.
Download New PC Studio 1.21 IH1.exe from the Samsung.com.  Install using the default settings.  In Windows 7 you will get a notice that the drivers are not signed. Click install anyway.  You may see this 6 to 7 times.
Install TkFileExplorer

Reboot your computer one more time and then connect your phone to the data cable.
You should see a bubble come up telling you new hardware is found and it should load the drivers for your phone.  It should tell you the drivers were installed successfully.
NPCS should open automatically and identify your phone.  Now close NPCS.
Now open TkFileExplorer.
Click the icon at the top with the gear and a box will pop up for you to select the com port.
Verify there is a com port in the box and click ok.
On the Solstice the drop down list will be empty as TkFileExplorer 2.2 does not know how to communicate with the new Samsung Mobile Modem V2.  Go to Device Manager, click the arrow or plus to expand Modems and open the properties on Samsung Mobile Modem V2.  Click the Modem tab and note the com port number.  Close all and enter the com port number into the port box in TkFE just as it appeared.  COM#
Click ok and click the connect icon at the top of TkFE.  The one with the Computer and phone.
You should see a list of folders appear n the bottom right pane of TkFE.  If so, you are done.

Tips:
Always make sure New PC Studio is closed before opening TkFileExplorer.
The Device connection monitor for NPCS in the task bar has no effect on TkFE so don't worry about it.

If you don't want NPCS opening every time you plug in your phone, then in NPCS go to settings and on the Option tab deselect the option Automatically start Device connection monitoring when Windows starts.

Download and unzip TkFileExplorer anywhere you want and put a shortcut on the desktop.

The quickest way to the Device Manager is left click Start, right click Computer or My Computer,  left click properties, (in XP left click hardware), then left click Device Manager.

Use a quality data cable.  This test was done with genuine Samsung cables.

Notes:
This process was verified on the following systems.
These systems had to be cleaned up
Abit ic7 w/Windows 7 RC x86
PNY GeForce 7100 w/XP Home
HP  d530 w/XP Pro

These were a clean install
Dell GS60 w/XP home
Dell Inspiron i1505 w/Vista basic
Dell T650r w/W2K

The following Samsung phones were able to connect to TkFE successfully
A727, A737, A767 Propel, A867 Eternity,and A887 Solstice.

Of course I'm using the 64 bit lol, I can't believe i forgot to mention that!  Anyways, when i go to unistall all of the previously installed drivers (which are I'm looking under control panel, then uninstall programs), they won't seem to erase.  I click uninstall, then restart, then they are still there!  its weird! One of them won't even let me uninstall it for some reason because it says nothing it there...its all mess up lol

Try to reinstall over top and if that goes well then reboot and try to uninstall again.

Do what Agoattamer said and

You should be able to remove several before you have to reboot.  Some take more than a few seconds to acknowledge its working, so be patient.  With the phone diconnected and your computer in safe node, they should come out easily.

wdeutsch,

I have spent the last hour on a win 7 64 bit system and ran into the same problem.  I will keep working on this and get you an answer as soon as i can.

Are you running an Intel processor?

I had that problem on my Windows 7. I went into the registry and deleted the entries since they were already removed, but not from the programs list.
