Hey,

I'm new here but appreciate everyone's knowledge.  I have a question; I am planning a trip out of the country and have Amaze 5.0 how will that affect my data plan and does anyone know if the GPS will work?  I know that the satellites will totally be useable but I guess I just want to know in advance what will happen and if it will cost me an arm and a leg to use.

Thanks!

That's a good question. Someone from Vietnam just posted and said it does not really work for them, but be sure you have an unlocked Eternity and a carrier in the country that you are going to avoid ridiculously high rates for everything. But, you could be a good guinea pig for us and test it out  Grin lol follow the steps in my guide (look in my signature) to set up your eternity to its best settings and to learn more about different configurations, so you can find out what works while you are there.

gps will work. the data will work. but you'll pay international data prices.
i would look into getting an international package for a month so you can use your own phone, number, and settings.
or you could do as previously stated, use a local carrier and readjust your settings for that carrier and just hope that they have data and gps.
i'm also going to guess that the program you use could make a difference as to whether or not it will work. sort of like how moodio doesn't broadcast certain companies because its an foreign ip?

Hi Guys, first of all fantastic forum learing so much about my Eternity I live in New Zealand and have brought an AT&T Unlocked phone and it works great on our XT Telecoms network here but I am also struggling to get the GPS to work no matter what I do the phone will not get a satellite signal?Huh I have Goolge Maps and it works loads the maps etc, but cant get a fix on a a satellite I have also tried AmAze and followed the tutorials on here but no luck Angry However the other day I was exploring the internals of my phone and went to Admin Settings > Internals and in setting 4 Conditional feature and setting 2 Applications there are two tick boxes the top one is SAT and the other is Org performance up.
I select SAT but it wont let me save that option if i try a few times it reboots the phone I am thinking this is a AT&T software lock out so only the AT&T Navigator has access to the GPS chip.
Any thoughts guys??? Maybe there is an unlock code for this feature to work.

Some options change back automatically after you change them. Read my guide for more details (in my signature). Also, make sure the app was installed via the method posted in the how to section.

amAze is now a paid program. Not worth installing, in my opinion.
