Yah, shelled out $15 for the unlimited data. Didn't think it was all that bad, but didn't want to pony up money for GPS navigation via ATT. With the data plan, does it make it any easier to access 3rd party GPS software?

I've seen numerous posts about GPS apps, but is there any difference between non-data plan and data usage with these apps? And what's the best (opinion) app for GPS outside ATT?

There are 2 better than all apps out there right now. They are amaze and mgmaps.  We have had some bugs but lately its been doing pretty good. It offers voice turn by turn navigation and you have to have a data plan.

MGMaps is more of a gps mapping program. Many different maps and style of maps. It offers navigation but no voice or turn by turn. You plot a course and you follow it just like you would on a map.  Recommended to use with data plan. Can work with cached maps but seems to brick phones with larger maps.

And actually I put up the impression's version of yellow pages. Very nice app in itself. Similiar to the one on your phone but it uses the gps.

These are my pics and I installed all 3.  All have threads dealing with each. So please search for any further instructions.

I would recommend amAzeGPS but that just my opinion... Myself I think it's easier on the eyes and I haven't played around with MGMaps much but I don't think it talks to you, am I right Ago?

Either way amAze talks it could be a little more precise and tell you WHERE to turn into when you've reached your destination but oh well beggers can't be choosers :p
