I tried amaze today and I did not get the meassage to update to 5.0. It did lock on gps and tracked me driving. I did not try the turn by turn voice.

4.5 not working for me today, lost nearly all functionality. First time I'd tried using it since 1/1/10, but no dice. Since I have unlimited data, I"m gonna pony up the $5 more a month and go with AT&T Navigator ($60 additional/year). Bummer  Cry

Use Google maps. Or buy a stand alone gps unit for $100.

Its $10 more a month unless you go with combo plan. But if you already have data/text combo then it will be $10.

Exactly.  AT&T offers a $20/month unlimited data + Navigator package.  Not bad, IMHO.  I currently have $15/mo. unlimited data and a $5 text plan (200 msgs.) since I don't SMS that much.

Although it is nice to have gps and a phone all in one unit for convenience, you can still buy a much better stand alone gps unit for less. I give up on GPS on eternity.

I installed garmin and iGO8 on my HD2. Wont be installing amaze on it. But amaze did work very well for our phone. Problem is the eternity. Its alot to try and do at one time. At least you have googlemaps.

I am pretty sure 4.5 is not working at all anymore. Try Amaze 4.7, a free alternative to 5.0 given straight from Amaze. Some features are new, but some are lacking in the free version.
