I would deletel the app via your phone menu, then reinstall using the technique found in the post "Google Maps now with GPS!!!!".  Just substitute Sportypal every tme you see Google maps.  You shouldn't have to rename the files to match since that is already done.
That is the method I used and it works great for me.  The only thing I did slightly different is where it tells you to delete the appdb folder, I just deleted the contents, not the folder itself.

Can't even thank you enough my friend! Works like a champ finally! I'm excited to try it out tonight! I tried emailing the SportPal team and they had no idea! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

One last question, sorry guys! Anybody having problems uploading the map after the workout? I upload the workout right when I'm done and track over to the graph and it just stays on "Loading Image" they are still uploading fine to the website, just not the phone. Aside from that, I love this app, it's working great!

I have had the same problem a couple of times.  I exited the app and then reopened it and when I opened my old workouts it was there.

Big improvement with the 1.2.5 update for SPortypal. On the eternity, I can now defer uploading a workout, or re-upload an old workout. The old behavior was that the application appeared to be hung when re-uploading a workout - according to the change history, it might just have been uploading v-e-r-y slowly.

The quoted words were posted in the sportypal java forum by me. I guess Andre3000 copied them here almost verbatim.

It does look like the re-upload or deferred upload problem is fixed now in version 1.2.5. Yesterday to test, I went for a bike ride, saved but did not upload the workout. I exited sportypal, restarted it, and uploaded the saved workout with no problem. Previously this would have hung sportypal.

No apology needed. I was glad my post in the sportypal forum was useful, and glad you found the right place to post the information here. I posted a note in this forum, but didn't see the thread here about re-uploading. Great that you saw the connection, because the re-uploading bug fix seems to be the biggest change in sportypal 1.2.5. That and the ability to minimize sportypal with the red button and then screen locking, thereby making the application immune from the user accidently touching the screen, brings sportypal to the point where it is reliable and useful on the eternity.

I'm trying to install the new SportyPal Beta 2.0 on my eternity.  When I download the JAR to the phone I keep getting an error message "Incorrect description".  I've also tried just overwritting the JAR and JAD from the previous version.  Any suggestions on getting the new Beta to work?
