so i go to record some audio of something i wrote on guitar so i dont forget it, and my phone says not enough memory. i knew for a fact that my phone still had 150k + open memory out of the 200k memory. i go to check used memory, and that 150k + memory has disappeared. the total memory listed was under 100k, so where did my memory go?
sorry if this problem was listed elsewhere; the mobile forum needs a search box :/

Uhm you are not giving us enough information about what all is on your phone... I don't know how to help with this description, maybe you could be more specific, like on the used space, look up what folders use the most space?

internet cache. delete it. enter airplane mode. goto a website. clear cache. leave airplane mode. watch the available k's increase.
use tk to delete the numbered files in the user br cache folder.

google maps. it stores large masses internally. use the reset tab. or use tk to manually delete, this avoids any spots you have saved from being lost.

opera. delete history. delete cookies.

use tk to go to user java filesystem and delete any movie and audio files.

use tk to delete any links and business cards you may have sent. i forget the location.

those would be the most common places to find space

delete your recent text recipient list for another 8k.
and a rarely discussed fact that i don't know who knows because it is rarely discussed...
mms messages take up more space than they say and more space than saving the attached file to my stuff.

alright text contacts deleted. here's the amount of memory listed-
4k in audio
16k in games and apps
8k in pictures
7k in other files
and 8.3k free
-i reset google maps and then deleted it
-cleared media net cache
-deleted opera and media net history
i also did  switched to airplane mode and went to a website but it said turn airplane mode off so while still in airplane mode i cleared the cache again then switched it back off
-i've shut off the phone and restarted it
any other info you guys need?

1.  Are you using a Samsung Eternity?
2.  Are you using the Record Audio function?
3.  Did it say not enough memory before or after recording?
4.  Have you taken out battery for 30 seconds before putting back in and turning on?
5.  IMO the recorder isn't that great
6.  I dont know any thing about guitars
7.  Couldn't you write down the notes or something?
8.  You won't be able to clear much with out TK
9.  uhm 150k isn't all that much space.  that would only let you record like a min and half at the quality of an amr file.
10. Just wanted an even 10

yes to using eternity
it said so before recording
it was 150k as in 150,000 kb or w.e out of the original 200,000 kb
guitar exp. not necessary Lol
i just use the record audio so i dont forget; not as actually recording for an album or anything
sorry for lack of info, im trying to give info as best as i can

i just moved all of my pictures to my sd card to free up space on my phone. guess what? i now have 0k available memory. as soon as memory is freed up, it disappears. sorry for triple post, this is really annoying and i want to find out what this problem is.

also, since this is happening, if i master reset will this mean ill have absolutely no space on my phone after i reset?
