Since videos come in so many resolutions its at times a difficult task. When I am converting videos I crop the resolution to get full hieght and deal with what I lose with the width. So on my phone I get the 320x240 resolution with no black bars on the top. And the black bars on the side you deal with or use your phone to stretch the video. But stretching makes the picture jump or look fuzzy sometimes. And its just like on your lcd tv. It makes everybody look short and fat. 320x240 is fine for me.

Yes your right. 320x240 works fine.

Good question. It's free today. Not trialware either. But, to answer your question, usually products with pricetags have more support for file types and are more reliable.

Well since this one sells for $30 I would imagine it is better/stable/bug free then a free/shareware one.

Just my opinion.

Anyway I see it says Vista on the page. So you have to install the app today to get it for free?

It does not say Vista on the page, and I am pretty sure it does not support it. Yes, all GotD apps need to be installed the day of the giveaway or else they will not register and activate.

I go there every day, and I have a few apps from it. I might uninstall it later just because I don't care for it, but many useful ones are posted. Partition Magic 10 was on the other day, and it is the full version, for free. I would bookmark the homepage: http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/

Thanks. I will try it on my XP machine. I use DVDFab and WinAV but I am always open to try something new.

And thanks for the heads up on the site and the free give aways.

I've tried super and it's pretty good but I prefer "OJOsoft Total Video Converter". I just find it a bit simpler and nicer layout, but no big difference. It also gives you more preset settings for different devices. If you can find OJO for free than its worth using it. There's no reason to buy it though.

I use handbrake to copy DVDs to play on my computer.
I noticed that when I used handbrake to convert them directly to Eternity's format, they were about 700 mb to 1 gb and would freeze periodical during playback.
What I have found that seems to work well for me is to use handbrake to copy the DVD using handbrake's default settings.  Then I use ffmpeg to convert the video to Eternity's format.  This results in a file that is 100 - 200 mb and plays well on the phone without any freezing.

I currently have 29 full length movies on my 8 gb card plus other videos, pictures, ... and I still have about 2 gb left.

100-200mb movies mean you are sacrificing data. Idk of any codec that can do that low of bitrate for movies on our phone and still retain quality.

They are giving WinX DVD Ripper Platinum 5.9.2 away today. It will convert dvd's to almost any format, and any size or bitrate (good for your phone).

Hope someone sees this Smiley

I used any video converter 3.01 pro

My pixon sgh gt m8800 (its the same as eternity right?) plays videos full-screen. No black bars, borders nothing.
The video WILL be stretched, especially ones with a 4:3 ratio; not so noticeable with 16:9 HD aspect ratios.

Oh, and you have to type in that ratio (frame size). It isn't available in the drop down menu.
