I have this mp3 called club_remix and the size is 444k and it wont let me set it as ringtone.

I've tried everything I can.
I deleted some stuff off my phone and moved other stuff on to my memory card but it still wont let me set it as my ringtone.

Can anybody HELP?? Huh

it's too big. has to be 300k or less. try the search button, and don't make subjects in all caps.

yeah ive searched everywhere and all ppls ever said on this forum is to make the size smaller but ppl never mention HOW, WHERE, and with WHAT right?? so after maybe an hr of googling online. i finally came across a recommended software that is most definitely free and easy: FREERIP MP3. works really good Smiley

the how and where have been mentioned. but the general thought is that if you are making your own tones that you already have the software to make the file mono and to reduce the bitrate

This has been posted a few times on this forum. You obviously didn't search well enough, because I found it fairly quickly.

well the thing was that i didnt bother to read nor view that whole making ringtones with itune bcuz frankly i didnt want to download another media player just to compress the bitrate, (but due to the 4 media players that i already have that doesnt have the audio compression capabilities, i really doubted that itunes would have it either). BUT i guess after watching this video it just directs ppl to using the 'website' to actually make the audio size smaller...ive encountered many sites like this but i didnt make it clear that i wanted to do this without having to use sms and especially DATA downloading. so this video actually wouldnt help someone who just practically wanted to create a ringtone on their own from their own computer like in my case. but thanks anyway. i have an old version of nero that came with my external burner. it has a killer sound editor. but the darn thing doesn't save as anything but wave.
so i use a program called wave pad to do all my converting. its a shitty editor compared to my nero but will work for what most people need. for me, well, at least it converts to other formats and bitrates and such. that's all i use it for.
there's a link to it on 'that other site i am constantly at'.

Why do you like to disagree with us and say that no advice helps on almost every one of your posts? It's getting quite old. Why don't you have any media players (out of FOUR) that cannot convert audio type and compression? What's the point of even having more than one if they all lack what is considered base functionality? Quit crying, get a program or go to a website that converts for you, and use bluetooth or a data cable to transfer because you are so worried about downloading a <300kb audio file that will cost you less than 60 cents on your bill.

if my understanding of the new data rates are correct, it will cost two dollars whether she uses 300k or 1000k. they now bill per mb instead of kb.

This site could also be used to make ringtones, free, plus they have a good variety of tones.
