Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but thought I would ask now before I get too frustrated.  I ordered the cord and downloaded TK.  When I got to installing the drivers for the USB, I got steps 1 and 2 done, (unzipping, and running the setup.exe), but then couldn't find anything in my device manager that said Samsung.  The only new thing I see is under "other devices" and it's called "SM Bus Controller", and I don't remember it being there. 

Anyhow, I don't have any ports listed in TK when I try to do this, even after trying to connect to PC Studio and closing connections and restarting my phone and everything else I could think of.  If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate the help.  Thanks in advance.

I've been rummaging through your boards for a while now, picking up tricks and tips along the way... you guys rock!  I've managed to get rid of that annoying "Allow, ask once" thingy on google maps, gmail, and opera mini. Yay! 

I'm still a bit confused about unlocking the gps.  Where is the folder for the internal gps located?  I don't see anything related to gps in the Java\Games folder...

Once I find the correct folder - is the process the same as for the java apps?

What did you do differently this last time to make it work because I'm having the same problem and can't figure it out. I've installed, reinstalled, uninstalled the drivers several times, restarted, not restarted, so on and so forth and still cannot find any Samsung Drivers in the Device Manager. What am doing wrong? Does it make a difference if I have Samsung New PC Studio installed on my computer? Do I need to uninstall that first or what? If anyone else has answers, I would appreciate it.

I plugged my phone in, went to select the port in TK, clicked the little down arrow thing to select the port and there is nothing to choose from its just blank. I know its not PC studio i dont even have that installed on this computer. I do have the driver installed. Whats wrong?

I can't get TK File Explorer to connect any more.  I was able to get it to connect initially and tried the AT&T Branding Hack on MGMaps.  However, I wasn't successful at getting the hack to work, and now TK won't connect.  I made sure bluetooth was off and made sure PC Studio wasn't running.  I even tried connecting it on another computer.  Still can't get it to connect.  Every time I hit connect, it thinks for a bit and then returns an error message "Error: The communication link is lost".  Any advice?

That should be the last thing you do. Are you trying to brick your phone? You are not screwed but dont restart that phone untill you have your games on there. If it disconnects when transferring just recconnect. The process is install all the games you want then delete that file. Restart your phone. The next time you have to repeat the sequence. But never delete the phonedb_data.00 file until you have added all your games and apps for that session.

Try restarting your phone with the phone still plugged into the usb. If that doesnt work Try restarting computer with cable still plugged in.  Make sure you have pc-studio selected in usb connectivity on phone and not on ask.

okay did you ever look at the trouble shoot page? Like Ago said, Make sure your usb connection is on Pc studios, When you switch it to pc studios restart your phone. After you d this tell me do you have any other problems.

I figured it out. I just went ahead connected to Tk file explorer and everything worked fine. For some reason I didn't need to do the third step. Maybe it is because I have Samsung New PC Studio installed. Anyway, thank you guys so much for everything. So far I have fixed amAze, Mobile Gmaps, and Snaptu. I also changed Mobile Gmaps to full screen following Agoattamer's instructions. I was worried because when I replaced the jad with the new one Tk file explorer gave me a connection error. However,  I simply reconnected and the jad was right where it was supposed to be, I disconnected again and started up Gmaps and it worked like a charm. Thank you so much Agoattamer! I'm wondering if I can do this same full screen hack on Snaptu as well.  I think I'm going to try it.

Congradulations. To let you know if you download version 1.42 of mgmaps it puts a zoom right on the touch screen for you. it was lacking in previous versions.

Yes if it disconnects on you reconnect and keep trying. You can also try closing TK an reopening it or reboot the phone. But keep phone plugged in to USB. As long as you dont run the app you can still write the jad back and nothing will be harmed.

All right so i have an issue getting this trick to work with amaze (gps app).  I have tried both the unsigned and signed downloads from the amaze website (shouldnt matter which), i install the app, connect to the tk file explorer, delete the manifest file and the contents of the appdb folder (leaving folder, as instructed).  I am able to run amaze ONE TIME.  Everything works flawlessly.  I exit the app and try to access it again, and it says:  "Current version out-of-date.  Please download a new version."  Going back in and re-deleting the contents of the appdb allows another one-time use, but the process of constantly having to delete the files is not worth it.

Any suggestions?

According to Amaze's mods the reason is because version 5 is getting ready to go up. Why they put the update before they released the new version for download IDK. We just have to wait now.
