Yes this is a very good review and I have also chosen the Eternity over the iphone and i dont regret it. too much people have the iphone and i just like the looks of eternity better as well, and samsung has qwerty keypad. overall, I just think the Eternity is better. Cool

hmm, after using my buddys 3gs i feel my phone is almost as poopy as a vu. i had a vu, problems, so i got tired of it and was like ill get an eternity, my buddy bought an iphone so i bought his eternity for $100. worked fine the whole time he had it and now boom i cant send mms cause its a glitch on these phones? almost as bad as the touch screen randomly quiting/working on the vu. idk, they try so hard to make these other touch screens liek the iphone, and they end up with lots of problems Sad

IMO id take a 3gs over this anyday!

i see two problems with your statement.
1. you have something wrong with your phone. defects happen. user errors happen. network errors happen. the phone itself, once you fix your problem is a nice phone.
2. the 3gs wasn't available during the production life of the eternity. they quit making the eternity before the s even came out. you can't honestly compare the two. however, if you wanted to compare the 3g and the eternity, not only would it be a more suited timeline comparison but also the eternity is a much better phone.
2a. its really not even a fair comparison to debate any smart phone to a non smart phone.

i couldn't stand using the eternity after i used the iphone for like 5 mins... eternity is a decent phone but simply cant compete with the iphone. i once believed that the eternity was better than the iphone then i actually used one. no comparision sorry will never give up the iphone for anything made by samsung cuz they suck, you all know it

The iPhone's touch screen is nice and very responsive. I played with an iPod touch a little over the weekend.

Another friend that was with me has an iPhone. Where we were camping there is no cell service whatsoever.

It wasn't until we were on the way home on Sunday that someone brought up sports scores. He busted out his iPhone to check on the World Series. It took him a million years to get the scores for the 2nd and 3rd game. His first excuse was that the scores weren't formatted correctly and that it only showed the score for the last game. Roll Eyes

My Eternity was still in the truck and wasn't even turned on yet. We were at a restaurant eating breakfast.

My dad asked him about the Lakers game. My friend was like hold on a minute there is an app for that. So we had to wait for him to find then start up the app. Roll Eyes

After breakfast we get back on the road and I start up my Eternity. I start up Media Net and have World Series, Lakers and NFL scores in a matter of seconds. None of this I have an app for that non sense. I like apps but why do we need over 85,000 to do the simplest things. Why should I have to pay $30 a month to get an app to view sports scores with?

Okay, I posted a comment and it was removed because apparently you cannot say anything bad about the piece of crap they call the Eternity. Here is the deal the Eternity cannot compare to an Iphone or any other smartphone. It lacks wifi, complete email coverage, push or pull for email. I had the eternity because of all of the posts on this website and I was pissed when I got it and used it. The touch screen is painful, its basically uncustomizable and the web browsing is poor. When you tap and by tap I really mean push because the screen is not good on a field it takes like 5 seconds for the virtual keyboard to show up. The bottom line is this phone really cannot be compared to a smartphone and should not be. You can compare it to other normal phones and I am sure it does quite well, but as for against the Iphone, Blackberry or HTC it falls short. Also there has not been and is not going to be an update for this phone as it is not a smartphone, does Motorola issue updates for the Razr? No, so don't hold your breath.

Well, if you dislike the eternity that much, & don't have 1, why do you feel it's necessary to stay here and bash it? Why don't you try the forum of your new phone? You would be happier there! You know why there are so many phones on the market? Because people have different ideas of what they want, need or like. So the people here I guess like their phone, or they would bash it, & leave? just & idea.Thanks for your input, now we know all the differences. Quig

Its not that I am bashing! Its that I want someone that comes to your forum as I did to get information on the Eternity to know both sides. So I posted my side, I did miss a point though and that is text threads. Iphone, Blackberry and HTC all have this and Eternity does not. Small thing but once you use it, its hard to live without. well, i bought my phone from a store after hours of playing with phones and researching the ones i liked online and then playing on them some more in the store.
i like my phone. i made an informed purchase.

i didn't buy it based on some printed page of text i found online without ever having physically seen it, let alone touching it.
so in other words...

deal with it.

No that makes since, OH WAIT this phone is discontinued and not carried in my ATT store, nor is it carried anywhere but online. So printed text was the best you can do when purchasing a used phone.
