Hey folks, I just joined this forum, and I was messing around in what I think was the admin screen (*#69... cant remember the rest. I do remember the second key, though. *#3818970*#) and I somehow selected an option that updated my software.  It rebooted the phone, and when it was finished, it said "The software update was not successful. No update is applied to your phone." I hit the "Ok" button at the bottom, it goes to the main screen and everything is normal except two diagonal arrows next to the memory card icon, and then it reboots.  It continues doing that until I turn the phone off.  Could you guys tell me how I can fix this problem?

First if you would have read the forums you would have known not to do this and what happens. Also you would have learned how to fix it. That is what the search box is for.

As your phone boots up as soon as you get the chance go back into the internals and do exactly the same steps except this time hit postpone.

i would even say that after your phone boots up and you get that box, don't touch anything. instead right click to open your dialer to get into your admin menu again.

I'm sorry for making a new topic, but I searched for "software update fail" and nothing relevant came up.  I did what nunya suggested and I'm able to get back to where I think I was, but I don't see the option to postpone anywhere.  Could you direct me to the topic where this was addressed previously?  Again, I'm sorry for the annoyance.

Ok I just thought I would start a thread to put all the things in the internals that are known to cause bricks or annoying problems in one section so you can easily see all of them quickly.

Going into device management and trying to update your phone
It gets stuck in a reboot.
When your phone loads up quickly go into Main Menu, Settings, Phone, and turn Airplane mode on. Then go into Internals *#6984125*# and enter Master Key *#3818790*# Then go to Protocol Settings, Device Management, DM Account, Options, and then DM reset. Now go back and turn airplane mode off. Thanks rekcah

Selecting Debug level 3
It reboots your phone into a firmware upload mode.
FIX: http://www.samsung-eternity.com/index.php/topic,6246.0.html
Follow these instructions to flash your bricked phone

Selecting Create all MM data
It fills your phone up with a bunch of junk files.
FIX: Delete all the files individualy, or do a hard reset witch will delete all files. *2767*3855#

Turning off the drx setting will brick your phone.
You can use http://www.samsung-eternity.com/index.php/topic,6246.0.html to reflash your phone and keep contacts and other personal info.

These are just some of the post I've read about the internals messing there phone up so I thought I would just put them into one post for you guys wanting to mess around with the newly acquired internals  Wink

If you have encountered any other problems please post and I'll update the list.

These fixes will more than likely change over time. If you find any easier way to fix these problems please post and I'll update the list.

when your phone is bricked where it looks where it's going to go to the main screen, the way your going to have to use it is: if u want to turn it on u have to plug it in to the wallcharger then turn it on. then the phone should be fine. but u cant reboot it while its not plugged in, thats just the way your going to have to get along with it if your going to be using, inless you know a better way to do it.
