i've said this before but i think it needs repeated.
anytime a user has the same problem with multiple units, its usually user error.

Well, gee. Why didn't I think of that?  I turn my phone off in mid-call and the phone turns itself back on immediately in attempt to correct my mistake!  I feel so stupid...

Come on now, there have been other phones returned for this very reason.  And the fact the phone turns itself on immediately, by itself, would indicate....oh, perhaps....a glitch in the phone?  There is a problem with this phone.  It is relatively new and not "perfect".
I came on here looking to see if others were having the same problem and they are.  There are also posts on AT&T's web site stating the same situation.  Again, I have to say, it's a great phone.  There is simply an issue with it that needs to be de-bugged.

Holding your finger or face against the off button during a call only disconnects your call.  It does not turn the phone off.  And even if it did, what would cause the phone to turn itself back on?  "Operator error"?  Wink

Excellent point!  I'd say they have a problem with a glitch.  Even old Quig can tell when he turns phone off & on. much easier to hang-up on someone, but not turn off!     Quig

but for one person to get more than one of these defective phones is... like i said, its not likely.

and try not using this one single thread to make it seem like everyone with an eternity has a shut down problem. most of the posters have resolved the issue. whether it was a battery issue, a temporary tower issue, or even a bad card, they don't still reboot.

Well i have hadd this phone for about 1 week ; And I have noticed that alot of people have been having the little prob ; But I havent, but if this was to happen to me a would wait until this prob has occured about 3 more times ; And then exchange it for a new 1 but thats just my personal opinion.

For the record.  My phone started to shut down on it's own and based on this thread I removed my Kingston 2GB Micro SD card.  Since then I have have had no problems with the phone.  Love the phone.  Love the forum.  Grin
