I turned off the phone and plugged in the charger about an hour ago.

I just looked over at it and there are two lines of text in red on the screen right at the top.  They say:

DEMSBL BOOT loader for MSM6290.
More than downloader version 5.50

What the heck is this and has anyone else ever seen it?

There is also a bright blue line outlining the LCD screen on the phone.

I unplugged the charger and it doesn't go away or turn on either.  Hmmmmmm

I just tried to call ATT and they are closed but I had to remove the battery to get it to boot up.  Seems to be working but I'd love to know what that means.

I have the same message.  I've done as much scourging of the internet as possible and i still can't figure out how to fix it.  The most I've been able to determine is that I accidentally put it into some kind of boot mode (Or "flashing mode?" Does anyone know what that means?) by holding the wrong combination of buttons or something.  Still can't figure out how to exit the "BOOT Loader" and taking out the battery doesn't do anything.  Does anyone know anything about any of this?  Please help!!!

definitely not.  this happened out of the blue.  I just wanted to take a picture, but i guess i was holding other buttons as well (one forum said that the volume down, camera and call end button combo would do it) and I've had the message ever since.  It reminds me of window's blue screen of death, only i can't restart.

I had that happen once. I was just charging the phone and as I pulled out the cable, the screen popped up. It happened the 2nd day I had it and I started really freaking out. I ended up taking out the battery and restarting the phone and it worked, but it would be nice to know what that screen's for.

It only happened to me once.  I think from pulling out the cable.  If it keeps happening I'd take it into a store.

Let us know what's going on.

The cable actually had nothing to do with it.  I hadn't plugged it in for awhile.  I was just about to take a picture and then this screen popped up.  I'm going to call customer service tomorrow, but I'm impatient.

I talked to 3 different tech support people from ATT and none of them knew what was wrong with it.  They just sent me a new phone instead.  At least I have my Eternity back in my life again!

Just to update this I have never had it happen again.   Just that one time.

I think I removed the charger while it was turned on and I did it too fast or something.

I'm glad as this has been a good phone for me so far with none of the issues some people are reporting.

 Roll Eyes  Knock Wood!

From what you read on this forum, there must be a huge quality control problem at Samsung.  Some are fine and some seem like junk.  At least ATT will replace them if you get a lemon.

This is newer technology so hopefully they learn in subsequent models.
